It’s was my third holi away from home, I always missed my family in holi.
My parents stopped talking to me when I told them about her.They were unable to accept the fact that their daughter was in love with an another female office mate.
I was decorating the tables and she was taking bath as we both thought of calling over some friends at home to have some good company.
The door bell rang, I looked at the clock, it wasn’t time for the househelp to come, I started making bun of my messy hair and walked towards the door.I opened the door and it was the best surprise of my life.
My parents and her parents were standing with a smile.My mom hugged me and told me how she missed me all these years.
I welcomed everyone in, they started looking at house and complimented me for being so properly arranged.
I was little nervous too, because it’s the first time my parents will meet her.She came and she put some Aabir on their feet and they put some on her cheeks.
What followed was proper Bengali 6 course meal, lot of dance and singing.
It’s was the most different and experiential holi of my life.
